Assistant Financial Controller

AMS Corporate Services (Cayman) Ltd is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Financial Controller within the corporate division. Reporting directly to the Regional Financial Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of internal and client accounting activities, as well as assisting the Group Financial Controller with reporting for the Cayman office within a tight reporting deadline.

Key Tasks/Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for a group of related entities
  • Recording of all accounting entries, regular review of and follow-up on outstanding AR balances, calculation of deferred revenues and performing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Overseeing and guiding team members on client invoicing, including annual and ad-hoc fees
  • Review of disbursement accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of entries and billing
  • Responsible for paying license fees to relevant government agencies to ensure no penalties are incurred
  • Drafting of the annual budget
  • Assisting with the annual audit process
  • Preparation of annual financial statements for an existing portfolio of clients as well as onboarding of potential new clients
  • Responsible for all client queries and communication pertaining to the portfolio
  • Preparation of complex financial statements and investment schedules

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • An internationally recognized professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, CPA, etc.)
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in the financial services industry, including at least 2 years in a global accounting firm.
  • Experience with TrustQuay NavOne would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience with Cayman Islands Government systems such as CORIS, REEFS, CAP would be beneficial
  • Detailed knowledge of IFRS and GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong project management, excellent verbal and written communication skills
